Animator and Necromancer Powers

Animator Powers


  • Sense the Dead: they can feel when there isn't a body within a coffin and if a soul is still present or when a vampire is near... they are very attuned to those that are dead. They can tell how long that specific body has been dead or living dead.

  • Circle of Power: is drawn in blood (of the sacrificed creature, most commonly a chicken or goat) around the body that they wish to raise. This is done to enforce the animators control over the zombie and also to prevent outside forces from influencing or affecting the process. Such as; witches or other animtors.

  • Calling the Dead: the animator will call the person they wish to raise by their name to draw a slight connection and with their will they will bring the corpse to life. The way the zombie looks depends on the animator and how long they have been dead. The more powerful the animator, the more human and life-like they look. Since the zombie is tied metaphysically to the animator they must obey the instructions that it is given. When a zombie is raised it has no memory to speak of and it must be fed blood to allow knowledge of its former life to return. Once this is done, the zombie can answer questions. Thus, serving their purpose.

  • Lay to Rest: once the zombie as served the purpose for their raising, the animator will lay them to rest. Putting the zombie back in the exact state they were before they were raised.


Necromancer Powers
(they have all the above abilities as well as their own)


  • : can sense all dead creatures or beings from; corpese, ghosts, vampires, etc... An they are able to minorly communicate with them telepathically, a longer link the stronger the Necromancer

  • : they have the ability to raise the dead without the necessary sacrifice. Their will is strong enough without the need to sacrifice something to get what they need. As well as for longer periods of time without getting tired or lacking the energy to go on. They almost seem to have an endless supply to get the job done.

  • : they can not only animate corpses, but they can animate vampires during the daytime when their souls have left their bodies. Giving them complete control of their actions

  • : can heal any sign or decay or injury on zombies and vampires alike. The stronger this ability the stronger the Necromancer must be.

  • : some can call spirits of dead weres, even going so far as to take the spirit within themselves to learn what they have learn, but if they're not strong enough the were's spirit can completely take over.

  • : because of their ability to animate vampires, some even have the ability to create a vampire servant for themselves, but it is a quicker process then the creation of human servants

  • : they can share or focus another animators or necromancers abilities within themselves to better use the energy. This could cause a lot of damage in the vampire community...

Two or More Animators


Sometimes, when one animator does not have enough power to raise a particular corpse, so long as there is an animator who is also capable of acting as a focus, two or more can come together and join their strengths and talents to accomplish the deed.

Before they begin animating the corpse they must bond themselves to one another:

  • The animators make mirroring cuts with the same blade.

  • They kneel opposite each other and press their wounds together.

  • One or both says "We give our blood to the earth. Life for death, death for life. Raise the dead to drink our blood. Let us feed them as they obey us."

  • They even preform the raising ritual together.

Once that is taken care of they can start the ritual together. Everything must be done in unison or the ritual won't work...

  • They stand and make their sacrifice

  • They then walk the blood circle of power together

  • They dab blood of the sacrifice on each other's foreheads, cheeks and heart

  • They repaint over the blood marks with the ointment

  • They smear the blood and ointment on the headstone

  • One stays by the gravestone and the other goes to the foot of the grave

  • They chant their call, which can be something like: "Hear us, (corpse name). We call you from your grave. By blood, magic and steel, we call you. Arise, (corpse name), come to us, come to us. (corpse name X2) come to us. Waken, (corpse name), arise and come to us."

  • One of them will then feeds the risen zombie blood - it has to be fresh, live blood that seals the ritual

  • When they are finished with the zombie they use salt and ritual words to return the zombie to its grave and rest

This is everything an animator or necromancer needs to raise a corpse...

  • A sacrifice (usually a chicken, sometimes a goat, or even the animators own blood)

  • A ceremonial knife (any type, from hunting knife to machete - but not one used in just day-to-day life)

  • Salt

  • Ointment, each raiser has their own formula that they like, but most have similar ingredients


The mixture usually includes varying amounts of:
(The ointment used is a blend of herbs and graveyard mold. To look at, it is a pale, off-white in colour with flecks of greenish light. It has a waxy and thick feel on the skin, but is quickly absorbed.)

  • Rosemary: for memory

  • Cinnamon: for preservation

  • Cloves: also for preservation

  • Sage: for wisdom

  • Thyme: to bind it all together
